Master in history from El Colegio de México and Philosophy of Science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Author of The Lords of Gold: Production, Circulation, and Consumption of Gold among the Mexicas and Science and Speculation: The Journey of William More Gabb to Baja California in 1867. His areas of interest are the environmental and economic history of mining and the oil industry. He is interested in the relationship between extractive and chemical industries in the 20th century. He is a member of the International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences. He has been a research professor at the INAH Veracruz Center, Xalapa Unit, since 2018.

Maestro en historia por El Colegio de México, y en Filosofía de la Ciencia por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Autor de los libros Los señores del oro: Producción, circulación y consumo de oro entre los mexicas y Ciencia y especulación: El viaje de William More Gabb a Baja California en 1867. Sus áreas de interés son la historia ambiental y económica de la minería e industria petrolera. Actualmente se interesa por la relación entre las industrias extractivas y la industria química en el siglo XX. Es miembro de la International Commission for the History of Geological Sciences. Es profesor investigador del Centro INAH Veracruz Unidad Xalapa desde 2018.
