Professor of Global and Colonial History (19th and 20th centuries) at the Department of History of the European University Institute. She currently serves as the Head of Department. Together with Professor Joanne Scott, she co-directs the interdisciplinary research Cluster Environmental Challenges and Climate Change Governance. Her research in recent years has focused on the history of development on environmental history in international perspectives; on the history of agricultural and rurality; and on the history of European science policy.

Profesora de Historia Global y Colonial (siglos XIX y XX) en el Departamento de Historia del Instituto Universitario Europeo. Actualmente se desempeña como Jefa de Departamento. Junto con la profesora Joanne Scott, codirige la investigación interdisciplinaria Cluster Environmental Challenges and Climate Change Governance. Su investigación en los últimos años se ha centrado en temáticas como la historia del desarrollo y del medioambiente en perspectiva internacional, así como la historia de la agricultura, la ruralidad y las políticas científicas en Europa.
