Lídia Cabral is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. She is a social scientist with a background in development economics, social policy, and development studies. She has 20 years of experience in international development, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. She has done extensive research on Brazil as an international development player and the country’s influence in shaping agricultural policy and technological change in Africa through South-South cooperation. She is currently leading research on the histories of the Green Revolution in Brazil, India, and China, looking at how epic narratives of the past shape scientific identity and transactions of technology in the global South.

Lídia Cabral es investigadora del Instituto de Estudios del Desarrollo de la Universidad de Sussex. Es una científica social con experiencia en economía del desarrollo, política social y estudios de desarrollo. Tiene 20 años de experiencia en el estudio del desarrollo internacional, enfocándose en el África Subsahariana y América Latina. Ha realizado una extensa investigación sobre Brasil como actor de desarrollo internacional y la influencia de ese país en la configuración de la política agrícola y el cambio tecnológico en África a través de la cooperación Sur-Sur. Actualmente dirige una investigación sobre las historias de la Revolución Verde en Brasil, India y China, analizando cómo las narrativas épicas del pasado dan forma a la identidad científica y las transacciones de tecnología en el Sur global.
