Ph.D. by the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he is a professor of Contemporary History. He is the scientific director of CISPAC (University Research Center for Atlantic Cultural Landscapes), as well as vice president of the Society for Agrarian History Studies (SEHA). He specializes in the history of rural societies and agrarian technological change and has conducted and directed research related to the construction of modernity in the rural world during the Spain civil war and dictatorship.

Profesor de Historia Contemporánea en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Es director científico del CISPAC (Centro de Investigación Interuniversitario de los Paisajes Atlánticos Culturales), así como vicepresidente de la Sociedad de Estudios de Historia Agraria (SEHA). Está especializado en la historia de las sociedades rurales y el cambio tecnológico agrario, y ha realizado y dirigido investigaciones relacionadas con la construcción de la modernidad en el mundo rural durante la guerra civil y la dictadura en España.
